Within was an exploration of using the Elements and Principle of Design. Elements of Design explored were texture and form. Principles of Design were emphasis and pattern.
Working with acrylic paint on canvas, I explored creating texture with the look and feel of leaves using a warm color palette.
After the painting had dried, I scanned the image in and took it into Illustrator and explored combining digital art with fine art, by producing the rings.
Tranquility was an exploration of creating texture through the use of line. A cool color palette was used to instill a feeling of calmness. Elements of Design explored were value and form. Principles of Design were emphasis and balance.
sing a cool acrylic color palette I explored long brush strokes to create the upward sweeping texture. I played with bringing in hints of yellow to provide visual interest.
After creating the texture background, the canvas was scanned and taken into Illustrator to add the bold black shapes and create the illusion of a water drop.
Possibilities was an exploration of creating movement and texture. Line and color from the Elements of Design was explored. Principles of Design used were pattern, rhythm and movement.

After the paint had dried, the canvas was scanned and taken into Illustrator to place the shell form. Opacity was lowered to enhance the feeling of a swirling movement.

Fall Morning was an exploration of light and fine brush strokes.
Fall Morning used a warm acrylic color palette. Sketching was not a primary part of this piece and used only in outlining the deer.
The majority of this piece was done freehand, allowing me to develop my hand skills to replicate what I envisioned in my mind.
Spring Mountain was an exploration of duplicating natural texture.
Sprint Mountain used an acrylic cool color palette. Sketching was not incorporated into this piece, but instead I pushed myself to freehand this design.
Depth, dimension and perspective were major elements necessary for this piece to come together. The use of color and contrast was explored to develop depth and dimension.
